OSUN “Work-Away” Staff Mobility provides opportunities for staff, particularly mid-level staff at under-resourced OSUN institutions, to learn from partners who are strong in administrative areas critical to OSUN integration and to build lasting partnerships across institutions.
The “Work-Away” pilot program provides opportunities for staff to spend up to one month embedded at a partner institution to learn about its administrative processes and contribute to cross-institutional integration.

Has clear goals of what they would like to learn at the host institution and how that will benefit their home institution
Is prepared to share their expertise with colleagues at the host institution and their work-away experience with colleagues at their home institution
Cultural:

Has little or no experience living abroad, especially living on another continent

Works in an office related to OSUN integration, such as a registrar's office, student mobility office, or disability services office
Has previously participated in an OSUN program, such as the
Professional Development for Administrators Program
Has no other opportunities to travel through other OSUN programs

Do I need to identify a host before I apply?
No. Your application probably will be stronger if you have identified a host and include a host’s letter of support, as that will help you define your objectives more specifically. However, you are encouraged to apply even if you have no specific host institution in mind. If you haven’t identified a potential host and your application is accepted, OSUN will try to find a suitable office at a partner institution to host you. Final approval of applications is contingent upon the host institution’s approval.

OSUN will
not
provide any additional resources nor support for accompanying family members and does
not
expect the host institution to provide any such resources or support. Since OSUN staff mobility is designed for short-term placements, participants are encouraged to travel alone. If you choose to take family members, you will have to assume full responsibility for their arrangements and expenses.

OSUN Work-Away is designed as job exchange, not a business trip. You will live in a furnished apartment rather than stay at a hotel. The host institution will help you find an apartment with a kitchen in close proximity or with good public transportation to the campus. You will need to cater for yourself as you would when you are at home.

How much will I receive for the OSUN Work-Away?
OSUN will pay for travel expenses, insurance, and accommodation at a furnished apartment (not hotel nor per diem). In addition, if living expenses are significantly higher at the host institution than your home institution, OSUN will provide a salary supplement to cover the difference between your salary and the salary for an equivalent position at the host institution for the period of your stay. The amount paid for accommodation and for any salary supplement will depend on the location and will be determined by OSUN in close consultation with the host institution.
