The Global Corruption Observatory is a joint effort of Central European University's Democracy Institute and its Department of Public Policy with Universidad de los Andes, BRAC University, and SciencesPo. The Observatory employs complex datasets on government contracts, law making and public subsidies, in conjunction with emerging Big Data methods and established theory, to bolster anti-corruption efforts of civil society, fiscal justice activists, and policymakers. The project builds interactive analytical tools and offers skills training and workshops to assist with advocacy. By making large-scale datasets accessible and actionable, the Observatory aims to develop a more skilled and innovative fiscal justice advocacy community that is willing and able to hold governments accountable.
