The course on the history of political economy will address the intellectual history of this discipline understood in the evolutionary context. It aims to introduce students to the origins of modernity, state, market, and democratic institutions, and to familiarize themselves with important politico-economic texts with close readings of Bodin, Serra, Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau, Justi, Smith, Marx and others.
