The impact of social networks on traditional media and democracy has become a major concern, leading to extensive research and the emergence of a new field. This course aims to provide an overview of the most recent research on the intersection of media and democracy, from a social media perspective, covering topics such as disinformation, political participation, protests, hate speech, political advertising, and media regulation.
