IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
All students enrolled in Undergraduate Certificate programs need to complete their certificate by Summer 2025. You can see the list of courses that will be offered that meet the certificates requirements here.
Students completing the Certificate in Public Policy and Analysis will develop the capacity to:
1. Understand and apply multiple economic paradigms, including those not typically emphasized in traditional curricula;
2. Use interdisciplinary and intersectional research methods to interrogate questions of employment, inequality, discrimination, economic (in)security, and related issues;
3. Develop data skills to examine these challenges from macro and micro perspectives;
4. Write public policy briefs for policy-making audiences.
Eligibility
All undergraduate students at OSUN member institutions. Applicants from all programs are welcome.
Requirements
At each institution, a student can earn the certificate by completing:
- The two regularly offered EDI Core OSUN Network Collaborative Courses: "The Right to Employment" and "Economic Perspectives for Policy Making." If an institution does not yet offer both courses, students can substitute one of them by enrolling in one of these OSUN summer courses: "Democratizing Work after the Pandemic," "The Right to Employment," or "Public Policy and Finance."
- One methods course offered at the home institution
- 2 elective courses offered at the home institution
- A writing component: completion of a public policy brief
