Is the Philosophy of Science a Socially Engaged Discipline?
The Laboratory for Social Critique of the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, University of Belgrade is organizing a series of reading workshops asking “Is the philosophy of science a socially engaged discipline?”The workshops will take place on April 14, April 28, May 10, May 19, May 26, June 9 and June 23 and will be held online, in English. Participation is possible for all interested regardless of their level of study or the philosophical and scientific disciplines which they come from.
The goal of the workshops is twofold:
- Consider some of the main issues of the relatively new sub-disciplines of philosophy of science: science and values and science and society.
- Consider whether these disciplines represent cases of a socially engaged philosophy of science.

May 19: Maria Kronfelder on Academic Freedom
May 26: Science and Society
June 9: Philosophy of Science and Climate Crisis
June 23: Philosophy of Science and Social Engagement
