International Scientific Conference on "Europe After War"
European Humanities University and leading universities from Ukraine, Poland, Cyprus, Austria, and Kyrgyzstan are co-organizing a conference on "Europe After War," taking place February 27-28. It will focus on the changes that await Europe after the end of the full-scale war between Russia and Ukraine. Experts will examine how state relations, economics, and world education are changing.
From the conference organizers: Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine has tested Europe's and the world's integrity, understanding, and foresight. The need to change the institutional architecture of Europe is clear. The UN, OSCE, ICC and ICRC have been slow and at times unwilling to make quick and effective decisions. Organizations such as the EU and NATO must change their decision-making system by moving to a qualified decision-making procedure for the sake of dynamism and efficiency.
Main topics of the conference:
•Philosophy: social theory and shaping a new era of social uncertainty
•Political Studies: adaptation of institutions to changing circumstances
•Legal Studies: the new configuration of the world order and rational scenarios for exiting war
•European engagement in Ukraine's post-war reconstruction: strategies to support structural reforms and to fight corruption
•Art after the war: the impact of the war's outcome on artistic creation in Europe
•Gender: the role of gender norms and role stereotypes in war and peace
•Media and the information landscape during the war
Individuals can register to attend in person in Vilnius, Lithuania or online.
All interested scientists, early career researchers, and students are welcome to participate.
Selected abstracts will be presented at the conference and authors will be asked for the publications in the conference proceedings.
