Call for Submissions: "Basic Human Rights: What Does an Equitable Future Look Like?"
The 2022 Difference and Justice Planning Committee invites OSUN members to add their voice, research, and passion to an important dialogue on human rights by submitting a workshop/session proposal for the Fourth Annual International Difference and Justice Symposium on April 22, 2022.Sixty-three years after the United Nations Adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) as a milestone global document outlining basic rights for all people of all nations, are the 30 articles of the UDHR still accurate, respected, and/or honored?
The theme of this year's symposium is "Basic Human Rights: What Does an Equitable Future Look Like?" All members of the network are encouraged to submit a program/workshop proposal addressing a wide variety of human rights issues, such as:
1.) Climate/environmental justice,
2.) Accessibility,
3.) Health and wellness, and
4.) Any other topic pertaining to the maintenance and/or provision of basic human rights.
Program proposals must be submitted by April 1, 2022. Selected proposals will be identified and confirmed by April 8, 2022.
Students are strongly encouraged to submit proposals as a testament to the academic rigor of OSUN curricula. Faculty are encouraged to motivate students to submit programs, which can include co-presenting research with students and/or colleagues. Also, a registration list will be available at each session to aid faculty who desire making symposium attendance a required component of a spring course.
Zoom technology gives our international colleagues and students full access to this quality academic experience without a registration cost. Everyone is encouraged to submit a program proposal and/or attend the symposium.
