Apply to the Engaged Research Fund for 2023-24

The OSUN Civic Engagement Initiative (OSUN CEI) and Talloires Network of Engaged Universities (TN) invite applications for funding and research support for graduate students and faculty at OSUN and TN partner institutions who are working to develop long-term, sustainable community partnerships as a central part of their research with a goal to develop shared knowledge about issues that align with OSUN priorities and themes.Grantees will join a community of practice of engaged research through the joint TN-OSUN effort, “Amplifying the Voices of Engaged Researchers Around the World,” which seeks to create and support a growing community of practice for engaged researchers.
The Fund is only open to faculty members and graduate students at OSUN and TN member institutions.
The Engaged Scholar Award (ESA) is for graduate students pursuing research that integrates community engagement into new or existing scholarship.
Award: $6,000
The Engaged Faculty Scholar Award (EFSA) is for faculty whose scholarship incorporates community-based research into new or existing research and supports sustained community partners as long-term collaborators.
Award: $9,000
Awardee Expectations and Requirements:
-Attend Awardee Orientation meeting on November 8 or 9 (to be confirmed closer to the application deadline)
-Participate in bi-monthly Zoom meetings to exchange ideas and strategies with cohort members, reflect on engaged research
-Complete and submit short reflection exercises
-Contribute to three international webinars
-Synthesize short reflection exercises into a blog post

-Community partnerships and dementia care in Bulgaria
-Translating the Field: On the Labor of Humanitarian Interpreters
-Mothers and Care-givers in Sex Work: A needs assessment study in South Africa
-Ethnomusicology and Disability studies in London
-Co-Production of Storytelling for Peacebuilding in Colombia
-Arts and Social Change: Honoring Jazz Veterans
-Closeness and Care: Elderly care in Serbia during the Covid19 pandemic
