Call for Papers: Emerge 2024 International Conference on the Ethics of AI Alignment

Deadline Expired on October 1, 2024
The Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory of the University of Belgrade and the Institute for Artificial Intelligence Research and Development of Serbia are pleased to announce the International Conference and Forum EMERGE 2024: Ethics of AI Alignment, to be held on December 12-13, 2024.

EMERGE is an annual event that brings together scholars, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from around the world to discuss and debate the ethical, social, environmental, and cultural implications of emerging technologies, this year focusing on aligning artificial intelligence (AI) with human values and interests.

Advancements in AI have ushered in a new era of technological innovation, promising to revolutionize industries, enhance productivity, and improve the quality of life. However, as AI systems become increasingly integrated into various aspects of society, questions about their ethical implications have come to the forefront of public discourse. Ensuring that AI systems are designed and deployed in ways that align with human values, goals, and societal norms is central to the discussion.

The organizers seek submissions from masters, postgraduate, PhD, and post-doc students, as well as professors and researchers. Potential presenters should submit an abstract of 500 words and topics should pertain to democracy, art & AI, AI ethics and environmental technology, health tech & health literacy, education, paradigms of AI, fairness in algorithms, and religion & AI.

For additional details, please visit the conference website or contact [email protected].

Deadline to submit is Tuesday, October 1
