Network Collaborative Course, OSUN Course
Applications Open for OSUN Course Proposals 2025
Deadline: September 30, 2024
Faculty and practitioners from OSUN member institutions are invited to propose OSUN Courses for spring and summer of 2025 and for AY 2024-2025. OSUN is especially eager to receive proposals for courses that count towards OSUN
Academic Certificates
.
All OSUN Courses are expected to strengthen OSUN learning objectives: Global Learning, Intercultural Competence, and Teamwork. These learning objectives are acquired as a result of students’ participation in the global classroom. Course proposals will be evaluated, along with other criteria, based on how effectively they foster these objectives.
It is expected that OSUN Courses promote:
Global Learning
(understanding of global systems and how diverse perspectives impact the framing of global and local issues; the recognition of one’s role in contributing to solutions in both local and global contexts);
Intercultural Competence
(cultural self-awareness; curiosity and open-minded consideration of others’ ideas, and increased ability to embrace cultural diversity);
Teamwork
(the ability to synthesize and build on others’ contributions; the development of skills and mindset required for effective collaboration)
OSUN Online Courses (OOCs)
are offered by a single institution to students across the OSUN network. They take place entirely online and include students from the host institution. Students register through a centralized application portal and are then enrolled at the institution that offers the course and receive course credit transferred from that institution. (Staff at OSUN institutions are eligible to register for OSUN courses, subject to their home institution's approval.) Proposals for OOCs are invited for spring 2025 and summer 2025.
Network Collaborative Courses (NCCs)
are co-designed and taught simultaneously across partner institutions. The courses may differ by institution but share key assignments, bringing students together online for class discussions and collaborations. Students enroll in and receive credit for these courses at their own institution. Proposals for NCCs are invited for spring 2025.
