Funding Opportunities for Student-Created Civic Engagement Case Studies

Deadline: April 20, 2023
OSUN's Visual Storytelling for Civic Engagement team is offering two funding opportunities to support student filmmakers in the creation of new video or written case studies.

In commissioning a video or written case study, OSUN faculty are providing active learning and meaningful opportunities to their students, making their own classes more visual and impactful, and also creating Open Educational Resources that other professors and institutions can use.

The first opportunity encourages faculty and student teams to submit an application to commission a new student-created case study.  3,000 USD in production funds will provided for student teams. The case study will include an 8-12 minute video and an 8-12 page written case study. All materials will be developed by students under the supervision of a faculty mentor. All topics related to OSUN themes will be considered.

The second opportunity provides faculty with the means to commission an 8-12 page written case study to accompany a student-created video. With funding of 1,000 USD, the written case study will be developed by students under the supervision of a faculty mentor.

Wining proposals will be chosen by May 10th, and funding will be available for work starting the summer of 2023.

This Request for Proposals is coordinated by OSUN’s Director of Library Assets Meggan Houlihan, who can be reached at [email protected] for more information.
