Economic Democracy Initiative Launches Job Guarantee Website

The Economic Democracy Initiative has launched its new project, the website JobGuarantee.org, ​​​​​​which provides a user-friendly description of the job guarantee policy and a deep repository of global news and research related to it. The site aims to be a dynamic hub and resource for engaged citizens, academics, and policymakers. The site also aligns with material presented in the OSUN Online and Network Collaborative Course "The Right to Employment." 

EDI Director Pavlina Tcherneva provided expert opinion to a report by Olivier De Schutter, UN Special Rapporteur on Extreme Poverty and Human Rights, detailing the job guarantee as a key policy for reducing poverty, unemployment, and inequality. Tcherneva has also released the report “A Job Guarantee For Europe” with Aurore Lalucq, a Member of European Parliament. Last summer, the European Parliament passed a resolution “Job creation – the just transition and impact investments,” which recognized the job guarantee as an essential tool in the fight for a more sustainable and equitable future.
