The occasion served not only as a celebration of individual academic achievement but also as a testament to the power of access to higher education for underserved communities.
"At a time of crisis for the Palestinian people, it is inspiring to see our undergraduates achieve great heights of scholarship, and it is heartening to know that we can count on the generous support of Education Above All," said Daniel Terris, Dean, Al-Quds Bard College for Arts & Sciences.
At Al-Quds’ graduation ceremony, EAA scholars presented their senior projects to an engaged audience of students, faculty, staff, and other guests as they reflected on their shared experience as EAA Scholars. Dean Terris and EAA Scholarship Program Manager Lina Swaiti awarded certificates to the graduating scholars, recognizing their academic achievements. The event also brought together younger EAA scholarship recipients, who were able to listen to their colleagues' experiences and draw inspiration from their displayed projects.
Launched in 2021, the Qatar Scholarship Program at Al-Quds Bard College (AQB) is a partnership between the Education Above All (EAA) Foundation and Bard College, supported by the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD). The program provides 339 scholarships to marginalized Palestinian students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees at AQB. The scholarship places a strong emphasis on civic engagement, offering students access to extensive support services, meaningful community involvement opportunities, and international exposure and knowledge through the Qatar Connection platform.
