Viktor Lagutov
Central European UniversityDr. Victor Lagutov holds MSc degrees in Applied Mathematics and Environmental Sciences, Policy, and Management, as well as a PhD in Environmental Sciences and Policy. Currently, he serves as a Professor and the Head of the Systems Laboratory at Central European University. His expertise lies in the application of digital technologies across diverse domains, including disaster management, climate change, water, and food security. Dr. Lagutov adeptly combines his teaching and research activities with practical projects on a global scale, with a particular focus on the science-policy interface and international cooperation. He has collaborated with numerous academic and international organizations, such as the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), among others. Notably, he has spearheaded the establishment of the OSUN's GeoHub (https://opensocietyuniversitynetwork.org/research/projects/geohub/) and ISEPEI Projects (http://isepei.org), initiatives aimed at fostering capacity in data-driven, evidence-based decision-making and providing executive education on geospatial technologies.
