Maryna Batsman
American University of Central AsiaMaryna Batsman earned her PhD in History and Civilisation from European University Institute (Florence, Italy). She holds MA in Comparative History, and a minor in Jewish Studies, from the Central European University (Budapest, Hungary), and is a graduate of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (Kyiv, Ukraine), with a BA in History and a minor in Jewish Studies. She researches the history of the Soviet Union with an emphasis on the cultural and educational history of the Jews in Soviet Ukraine during 1920-1930s. From 2018, she works at American University of Central Asia as an Assistant Professor in the General Education Program, where she teaches First Year Seminar, English Composition, and sophomore courses in the intersection between history, literature, and fine arts. She is also engaged in the postgraduate program in Central Asian Studies at AUCA, where she teaches a course on the national identities' creation and nationality policies in the Soviet Union.
