Christelle Genoud
American University of Central AsiaChristelle Genoud will be Associate Professor at the American University of Central Asia from August 2024. She is currently Research Associate at King’s College London and Senior Lecturer at Lausanne University. Previously, she contributed in launching the first Master on Human Rights and Sustainability (MAHRS) in Central Asia at the OSCE Academy in Bishkek. She was also part of the project "Academic freedom, globalized scholarship and the rise of authoritarian China" at King’s College London. In addition, Christelle worked as Human Security Advisor at the Embassy of Switzerland in Beijing, where she was in charge of the human rights portfolio, as well as Human Rights Expert for the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). She holds a PhD on finance and human rights from the University of Lausanne and a Master in Asian Studies from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies. Her research focuses on human rights politicization and power struggles around the definition of human rights.
