Tatjana Myoko von Prittwitz und Gaffron

Tatjana Myoko von Prittwitz und Gaffron is an interdisciplinary scholar and artist. She holds a PhD in Comparative Literature and an MA in Curatorial Studies. She has taught in various programs (humanities, literature, Hannah Arendt center, environmental studies, religion, and photography) and is currently focusing on studio arts classes, combining creativity with spirituality. She is also a certified Zen priest with extensive residential training in Japan, and the Buddhist chaplain at Bard College, leading the Bard meditation group and sangha for over 20 years. Her artistic practices consist of Japanese tea ceremony and sumie ink painting. She has studied in depth the concept of social sculpture by Joseph Beuys that has informed both her curatorial practice as well as her research in the humanities.
