Sam Gilchrist Hall

Central European University

Sam Gilchrist Hall completed his doctorate in English Literature at the University of London in 2015, becoming an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the same year. Having worked in Hungary from 2015-2020, he is now a Postdoctoral Fellow in Experimental Humanities at the Central European University, Vienna. He has published a monograph, Shakespeare's Folly: Philosophy, Humanism, Critical Theory (New York: Routledge, 2016), and numerous articles on drama and philosophy in early modernity. An avid writer of fiction, his first novella, Inside Virgil Caine, was long-listed for the 2021 Alpine Fellowship, and is due to be published next year.
