Pinar Kemerli

Bard College

Pınar Kemerli is Assistant Professor of Politics at Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY. She completed her PhD in the Department of Government at Cornell University, and holds a BA from Boğaziçi University in Turkey, and an MA degree from Goldsmiths College of the University of London. Before Bard College, she held faculty and postdoctoral positions in NYU and Brown University. Her research focuses on the politics of resistance and anticolonialism, with a specific focus on Turkey and the Middle East. Her research has been published or is forthcoming in journals including International Journal of Middle East Studies, New Political Science, Theory & Event, Political Theory, Radical Philosophy and Millennium.
