Obaidullah Bahir

American University of Afghanistan

Obaidullah is a lecturer and a dreamer dedicated to making the world slightly better. He writes and comments on Afghanistan.

He holds a postgraduate degree in International Relations from the University of New South Wales, Australia. His final thesis was titled "A Study of the Structural and Ideational Factors Hindering Negotiations with the Taliban." Obaidullah is doing his PhD in Politics at the New School, where he holds the Prize Fellowship. His major is Political Theory with a minor in Global Politics.

Obaidullah taught Thinking about Democracy, Civic Engagement, Transitional Justice, Peace and Conflict Resolution, Conflict Transformation, Geopolitics, Introduction to IR, and Foreign Policy at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has given talks and guest lectures at Oxford University, Cambridge University, the University of Sydney, the University of New South Wales, Notre Dame University, SLU Madrid, SOAS, and the London School of Economics, among others.
