Lloyd Hazvineyi

Bard College

Lloyd Hazvineyi holds a PhD in History from the University of the Witwatersrand Johannesburg in South Africa. He is currently an OSUN visiting Assistant Professor of African History at Bard College in New York. Lloyd co-authored two chapters in an edited book titled Guerilla Radios in Southern Africa: Broadcasters, Technology, Propaganda Wars, and the Armed Struggle published in 2021. Lloyd's teaching career started at the Catholic University of Zimbabwe where he taught African History courses from 2015 to 2018. In 2018, he moved to Wits University in South Africa where he taught History courses in the Humanities and Critical Thinking across different departments between 2018 and 2022. Lloyd's teaching interests primarily revolve around radio, music and decolonization in Africa but have recently expanded to include global histories of soccer.
