To think about cities is to think with scale. The core aim of the class is to critically reflect on multiple global, regional, and local forces that shape and relate to one another in making and remaking of urban spaces. Cities, then, become expressions of economic, political, and social processes and dynamics that shape everyday livelihoods of urban dwellers. Taking cities around the world as examples, the class calls for a nuanced reflection on diverse factors that shape urban spaces. Prerequisites: None
