European Union Law and Human Rights

The course will address two main themes. Firstly, students will be exposed to the functioning of the European Union and address the human rights issues as raised within the European Union. The second theme will cover the Council of Europe and European Human Rights Law, exploring the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. The course introduces students to the legal system and institutions, the basic principles, and rules with a focus on human rights.
