We need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to zero by 2050 to have a chance to avoid catastrophic climate change. A conservative estimate of the financing needs to make that happen is between US$ 4.5 to 5 trillion annually. How should these Climate Financing needs be met? This course is designed to provide a basic understanding of the need for Climate Financing, the global landscape of Climate Finance, various private and public sector instruments, and its ethical debates.
