Is there a right to cultural heritage? Increasingly, heritage is a key concept in the social sciences. This course explores the concept of heritage, examines case studies of heritage preservation and tourism, and discusses the politics of the past in locations of war and violence as well as heritage that unites peoples in terms of human rights.
Prerequisites: Background in human rights, peace studies, anthropology, or allied fields.
