Day/Time: Friday 3:50 AM - 5:30 AM EDT
Instructor: Viktor Lagutov, Central European University
The aim of this course is to provide both theoretical understanding and practical introduction to the use of remote sensing technologies for monitoring and analysis of environmental and societal processes, contributing to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The course provides an overview of alternative earth observation and geospatial data collection systems. It is based on a “learn-by-doing” approach: instructors-led theoretical sessions followed by students’ individual work.
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of mapping and visualization of geospatial data is expected from course participants. For CEU students, the course “Geospatial Technologies for Environmental Professionals (GST)” is enough. For other OSUN students – similar courses or evidence of some basic relevant skills and knowledge.
