This course approaches physical, intellectual, sensorial, and communication disabilities from a social model perspective. We will examine the environmental, cultural, and interactional adaptations available for persons with disabilities and explore their options in their constraints. Each student will focus on a case using qualitative research techniques (interviewing, participatory observation, and/or conversation analysis).
Prerequisites: Some knowledge of diagnosis and evaluation in the field of health, and some knowledge of qualitative research methods is useful, but not necessary.
