This course examines the skills necessary to produce scholarship and engage the public sphere by developing proficiency in conducting and presenting research. It uses a meta-literate approach addressing issues such as information consumption, misinformation, information activism, digital inclusion, and equity. The class looks at news/media literacy and advanced research skills as foundational to modern civic life. Students will complete group projects to put the skills from class into action.
