Students can register for two types of courses. An OSUN Online Course (OOC) is a single course offered at one institution that is taught fully online in a synchronous format and enrolls students from multiple campuses. Network Collaborative Courses (NCCs) are co-designed and taught simultaneously across partner institutions; the courses share key assignments, bringing students together online for class discussions and collaborations, and students enroll in and receive credit for these courses at their own institution.
Both OOCs and NCCs aim to strengthen a set of core learning objectives among participating students, including: Global Learning (understanding of global systems and how diverse perspectives impact the framing of global and local issues) and Intercultural Competence (curiosity and open-minded consideration of others’ ideas and increased ability to embrace cultural diversity).
Both kinds of courses focus on many are components of Academic Certificate Programs, which provide structured curricular and co-curricular pathways through the themes.
The Connected and Blended Learning Toolkit offers support for the development of network courses.
