On Monday, November 14, Layla Martínez joins the class to speak about "The Future Is Ours: Dystopia In Times of Crisis."

Layla Martínez is a writer, editor, translator and public intellectual from Spain. She is the author of two best-selling books, the essay Utopia no es una isla or "Utopia Is Not an Island" (Episkaia, 2020), where she defends the political potential of utopia in the present and Carcoma or "Wood Worm" (Amor de madre, 2021), a highly original terror novel that addresses Spain’s historical memory.

This event will be conducted in Spanish. Join via Zoom by writing to Professor López-Gay.
