Olin Hall
, Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson, NY, US
"Rage and Reason" is a two-day conference sponsored by OSUN taking place at Bard College. The conference examines the phenomenon of social media being driven by political and social rage. It is a response to the undeniable fact that rage and emotions are increasingly a force in our political and cultural lives.
Keynote address by
Pankaj Mishra
.
From HAHN:
While social media is not to blame for the rage that is ravaging our society, the algorithms that drive digital social platforms do allow emotional and angry opinions to spread with unprecedented vigor and vitality. Social media is so successful in splintering our society because the very foundations of liberal democracies are so tenuous. And the rage that social media thrives upon answers a real need for belonging and conflict and sacrifice at the heart of the human condition.
HAHN offers complimentary entry for all OSUN students, faculty, and staff members.
Register here
as an "OSUN Member" to attend the conference in person, or register to watch the Live Webcast.
The deadline to register is Monday, September 26.
