Anastasia Kvasha
Central European UniversityAnastasia Kvasha holds a PhD and MSc in Environmental Sciences and Policy from the Central European University (CEU) and a Specialist degree in Geoecology from the Lomonosov Moscow State University. She has worked as a consultant at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and as a specialist at Moscow city government and was engaged in a number of projects related to disaster risk reduction (DRR) and environmental management. Her research interests are mainly focused on DRR, climate change adaptation, remote sensing, geospatial technologies, and environmental modeling. In her current work, she is focusing on the diffusion and implementation of geospatial innovations and satellite-based technologies in building disaster resilience.
As a Postdoctoral fellow at the Environmental Systems Laboratory (Syslab) Anastasia is actively participating in various projects and trainings organized by the Syslab, including the GeoHub project, funded by the Open Society University Network (OSUN) and founded by the CEU, American University of Central Asia (AUCA), and Bard College, and the ISEPEI project (In-Service ICT Training for Environmental Professionals).
