Who enables the making of global knowledge by standing between international knowledge seekers and the local communities? This course will focus on the often overlooked work of people like translators, interpreters, tour guides, international journalist’s ‘fixers’, photojournalist’s image brokers, anthropological informants, local human rights activists and other cultural liaisons who build their reputations and careers upon moving between cultural worlds.
